You have questions I have answers

1. Do I need an editor or proof reader because I am illiterate and clueless?

- I have had a ton of offers from some very lovely ladies offering to help me out, but no I do not need an editor because ever since Rule became a big deal I did the responsible thing and sent him off to be cleaned up.  The edited version should be available by early next week.  Yes I am evaluating my writing process since I don't like getting hollered at for spelling and grammar, but only so many eyes can look at a manuscript before it goes in the world...plus I signed with a literary agent because well I'm too busy to do this as a real THING so now it's Stacey's job to get hollered at for me.  Oh and I am neither illiterate or clueless just a busy gal that wanted to write a story and never thought it would be read by so many people and that they would be so mad at me about commas.

2. Is Rule out on the Nook or available in paperback?

-As of right now no.  I self published on Amazon so they have all the digital rights for 90 days and I have no idea how to publish on Barnes and Noble's platform.  Again that is going to be something I put Stacey in charge of.  If the book gets sold to a publisher I think you will be able to get it in any and every form books come in, but for the moment it's only available on kindle through Amazon.

3.  When is Jet's story going to be out?

-If I have my way I'm saying May, but if the story gets sold as series I might not get to dictate that.  For now though I'm saying May.

4.  Will Shaw and Rule appear in the following stories?

- If you read Rule you know that personality isn't going anywhere.  I built this series as a world and part of that world is watching friends relationships evolve and grow, just like in real life.  Rule isn't going to let his boy's have all the fun without him.

5.  Will Rome get his own story?

-I hope so.  I would like to give Rome, Nash and Rowdy all a story.  They're a fun group of guys and they need some good ladies to settle them down and rile them up.

If you email, Facebook me, Goodreads, blog at me I will do my very best to get back to you.  I enjoy that part of this process the most.  But if you holler at me I am the type to holler back so just be prepared :)  Thanks so very much for reading, for wanting to help me, for being wonderful invested readers.
Lots of Love from the VERY cold Colo,
Jay

  1. I'm a Rule junky!!! I can't wait for more from you. Thanks for taking the time to answer some questions.
By the way, I'm a huge Bronco's fan! I was actually born in Ft. Morgan and grew up in Wheatridge and the Springs. Super exciting that I get glimpses of Colorado/Denver scenery from Rule and the rest of your books. I miss it so much.

  3. I loved the book and am anxiously awaiting a series! Yes, there were edit issues, but ALL self-published books have that. I am a big Eragon fan; Chris Paolini had family in the publishing biz and even his self-published version was quite different than the big-time editor version. Edit is clean-up. You created a world that came alive in my mind. I've lived that line of being in two different worlds. You captured it in raw detail. Hope you make the self-imposed May deadline. Sign me up for the next release. Honestly, my biggest complaint is the cheesy cover. I wanted facial pierings.

  4. Love your work!! I read a few books a week and the majority of them don't make me feel anything. They just get consumed like potatoes chips! Yours is the first in a long time that made me want to take my time and reread as soon as I was done. I love the way you drew us into lives of Shaw and Rule without using graphic descriptions and bad language for shock value. Give me great writing over commas any day! Keep up the good work.

  5. I'm reading this right now, "18%" of the way through. As many of the reviews on amazon state, I am really enjoying this story so far, but am having a hard time pushing through due to the spelling and grammar errors. Some of it gets hard to decipher and that's not what I want to do whilst trying to enjoy the story. I was so thrilled to read here that there's a "cleaned up version" now available because I really do want to know this story, I went to the kindle store and found the edited version... One problem... I have to buy it again to get that version????

    1. Amazon is working on getting the update... No you do NOT and should not rebut it. If you have a tablet it might have updated on its own. The edited version is much better... Still not perfect by any means but there are far more commas.

  6. I found your book "Rule" after I purchased a different book and it came up as a suggestion of what I might also enjoy. Unfortunately I have a Nook and soon found out it was not available to me. I have a cousin who works for a self publishing company and asked her why it would be. She sent me this link
    http://www.outskirtspress.com/p/nook
I'd LOVE if I could get through the Nook :) Not sure if it's possible to do or not.

    1. I unfortunately signed up with KDP where amazon allows members of amazon prime to borrow this book for free.... Since I did that amazon owns the digital rights for 90 days. I cannot do anything on another self publishing platform until March 30th. Now I know for next time, but for right now it can only live on Amazon.
